A prayer answered

In spring of 2010 Trip was asked to move to a new area with Young Life.
In spring of 2010 I began to pray that our house would sell and that we would land in just the right home to begin our family.
In November of 2010 God answered that prayer and our house sold.
In December of 2010 I had some hormonal meltdowns while moving 8 months pregnant with no permanent home to go to.
In February 2011 we landed in our new home and Brooks was born just a week after moving.
And God answered another prayer,
as a young mom with a lot of friends with no kids, I asked God for some mommy friends and really just one mommy friend would be suffice!
I wanted someone who I could do life with as a mom.
And sure enough God showed up, like he always does, and gave us neighbors that I knew right away was going to be God's provision for this in my life.
Sally gave birth to sweet Daye 7 weeks after Brooks was born.
And thus began our friendship with the Stanfills!
I only wish I had known Sally earlier in my life.
Do you ever meet people and think, " I know I would have been friends with them in highschool"?
I do that a lot, and Sal would have been one of those people.
Anyways,
I love seeing clear as "Daye" (ha) prayers that are answered.
When you know 100% that God is dropping something in your lap.
So I get the pleasure of swapping kiddos with Sally often.
And I love watching our two kiddos play together.
And sharing my "enlightening" parenting thoughts with Sally.
And going to dinner and talking about diapers and the latest foods that our kids are eating.
And my favorite thing about keeping this sweet girl is this......

when Daye's mommy and daddy come get her and wake her up,
her hair goes in every direction,
and she gives us a wide grin,
like she has an audience,
it is hilarious,
and one of the cutest things ever.

So here is a post documenting God's continuous provision,
and a reminder to me that God is always for me and never against me!

  1. well if this isn't just the sweetest thing . . . thank you from my heart for typing these words!
I hope you and your readers know that these words are reciprocal between us:)
    so thankful!!!

and Daye wanted to say something to:
    Dear Aunt Rebecca,
I really love you. I love playing with Brooks at your house and I love when he comes to play at my house. If only my mom bought the good snacks like you do. My mom says I show signs that I know you and feel comfortable with you, like how I always want you to hold me and how I lean over for you to take me from my mom's arms. And I just wanted you to know, that those signs are true! I'm really glad God not only gave you to my mom, but that He lets me have you too!
Give Brooks a high five for me,
    Love,
    Daye
