Trail West Week 4

We are almost done with our last week. Can't believe we are almost done yet it feels like we have been gone a really long time! Saturday we had some time off and got to go to Aspen for the day. It was so fun and the drive there is unbelievable. So pretty.

We also got to go to the wrangler breakfast this week!

Trail West Week 3

Can't believe we are almost done with week 3! It's been a fun week with the Allen's! They invited us to go on their jeep ride yesterday and it was so fun! It was nice to get away for a bit and leave the little man for a couple hours.
Trip is doing awesome, he is so great at being "present" and spending time with all these families even when he is not "on duty".
I have been helping out in the snack bar at night because they are a little short handed and it's been a fun way for me to interact with the families.
Some pics from the week so far.

Cutie, Katelyn Zinn!

Another cutie, Susie Chupp saying hi to Brooks. I love this picture because it reminds me of how much love this little man receives around camp from everybody (especially the Chupp family)

Trip's little buddy and camp crush

Trip had to fly to hilton head for the weekend for Chris Harrison's wedding. So excited for Chris and Emily! Trip will be back on Sunday just in time for welcome for the next group of families. Brooks and I couldn't make the trip to Hilton Head, just too much traveling for the little man so we are just enjoying another weekend in Colorado!
Trip had a camp crush this past week, and by camp crush I mean a 4 yr old girl who adores Bo Wingo!  My competition goes by the name of Bailey, and I have to admit she is such a cutie! She resides in Austin Texas and asked if Bo and baby Brooks would like to come to her house in Texas.
Not sure if I can compete with such cuteness!

I really think these two are going to be good buddies, can't wait to watch it unfold!

Brooks got to swim in the big pool at Frontier this week!

My Heart is Full!

That's the best way to describe how I feel, a full heart. People always say when you have a baby that it just gets better and better, and it couldn't be more true. My heart is so so full!
Brooks + Colorado + Young Life camp + my husband = full heart!
Last night we got to go see a club at Frontier with the Northwest ATL group. I sat next to Trip in the back of the club room on the 3 yr anniversary of our engagement at Frontier and told him how much I love that place. We both do. It was also one of the best club talks I've ever heard. And it was so fun to see familiar faces. Like Trip always says when we're there, it's just good for my soul.

We also got to go on a fun hike with some of the assign team on Saturday.  Loving these people and hearing different life stories!

Faith like a child

Where to begin......... what  a great, long, first week!
Families leave tomorrow and tonight we had our last club and "Say So".
Kids and parents were able to stand up and share about what this week meant to them. It. was. awesome. Hearing an 8 year old boy stand up and say that he gave his life to Christ this week and had the best week of his life is so precious, and then even cooler is that his parents were in the same room with him to hear him say that.
Then there were parents in tears about how much it meant for Randy to be so vulnerable and real this week and how his life and his story has changed them.
Then of course there was the CUTEST little boy, maybe 4 years old who told everyone the he loved his dog, and his house, and his dog (again), and his mom, and his dad, and his dog, and the person sitting in front of him.......... unbelievable.
It's nights like tonight that far out weigh the hard and tiring times, it's nights like tonight that make everything about what we do in Young Life, everything that makes our life so different worthwhile.
It reminds me of why I always wanted to have my summers available to come to camp and why I always wanted to marry a Young Life guy.
Here are a few pics from the week.
