Momore

We celebrated Momore's birthday this week. She is 82 years young! Momore is THE best grandmother and now great grandmother in the whole world! She loves us all so well and she loves her Jesus! I strive to have a faith like hers! She is always our biggest fan. And the best part about her is that all she wanted for her birthday meal was the Varsity! She's a true native Atlantan! So we picked up the Varsity and had a delicious dinner together.

Chappell helped Momore open her present

Cheeeeeese!

And just a random post bath picture

6 months

Brooks turned 6 months last week and we are having so much fun with him! He is really starting to have a lot of personality. He's really smiley and loves our attention. And he kicks like no other. I'm a little worried that he's going to wear me out as he gets older, he's got his daddy's energy, yikes!
He did a number on the paper at the doctors office!

Here is some footage of this boys energy! Look out world!

first date

Brooks had his first date last week, we feel good about it, she comes from a good family.
(The Stanfills)

Daye and Brooks, they make a cute couple

And can you guess what the little man has been eating lately?
if you guessed carrots, you are correct!

And we had our Young Life leaders to the mountains this weekend and Brooks was the center of attention (literally).

We really had such a great time, we made homemade pizzas, and we laughed a lot!

School

This is the first year EVER, in my whole life, not going back to school.
And it feels pretty good.
I couldn't be happier about getting to stay home with Brooks but I do miss school believe it or not.
I loved the first weeks of school teaching, it's like the honeymoon phase, everyone gets along, the kids are excited, nobody misbehaves, we are all well rested (now by Thanksgiving it's a completely different story). New supplies!
I miss the teachers and being a part of something. I miss the kids faces when they get excited about their success or a fun activity. I miss the tears on parents faces at the first conference when they share that their child is beginning to read for the first time and they have gained confidence in themselves.
So here's to all those teachers out there giving 110% to make their new kiddos feel like they are worth a million bucks on their first week of school!

Me with my very first class teaching (they were my favorite).... yes teachers have favorites

And here's to not leaving the house before 7am to go to work but staying home with this little guy instead!!

5 months (kinda)

Here are some 5 month pics of the little man, I'm a little late posting these because he will be 6 months in  about a week.
Sounds stupid but it dawned on me when I came home this weekend that he is just going to keep growing and growing...... and growing....... and growing and changing........ and changing.......and changing. He is not going to be a baby forever..... strange.

Also I left the little man this weekend with daddy for the first time to celebrate this sweet girl....
soon to be Mrs. Ragone

And within about an hour of being gone I received this picture via text
father son weekend!
Could have guessed he would be wearing his jersey, but seriously I told my friends that I have 0 reservations leaving Brooks with Trip for the weekend, he is more than capable. It was a fabulous weekend of girl time and sleeping in, just sitting around and talking...... perfect!!!
Missed the little man and my hubby but it was a much needed weekend! Love me some girl time!

Beach and Baby food!

Well we are finally home for good after more than 5 weeks of being gone. What an awesome summer. We are so so blessed, I really wish everybody had the opportunity to go to YL camp for a month. There is just nothing like it and I am so thankful that we have that opportunity.
After Trail West we unpacked and then repacked and left for Sea Island for some R&R after a long month at  camp. It was good time before the busyness of the school year.
We started the little man on baby rice cereal this last week, highly entertaining!

So excited in the big boy seat

before

Wait.... what is this?
 after
I don't know what to do with it......

Seriously? What do I do?

It's not so bad!

Some fun time in the pool

And home sweet (hot) home!

I really think the little man is glad to be home!

Now we count down for football season to start................
