Bo Wingo the cowboy action figure....

Trip's main program character is Bo Wingo. The kiddos made a cowboy craft with Bo Wingo's face. I know this has always been a dream of his.

Trip is doing a great job so far, he really gets into his character...... just last night he did a summersault onto the stage and hit the back wall with his boots......... his comment was "the crowd loved it!"
and Mayor Randy as they call him out here is doing a great job speaking. Everyone is really enjoying him.
We are loving being out here. The families couldn't be cuter! We have met some great people.
I am loving the other assign team spouses and assign team women.
We all met this morning and it was so nice to have time (away from little man) to pray and share life stories and how we are doing at camp so far. It's fun to all share this role together.
One problem though, little man has decided he doesn't want to sleep through the night anymore because he is in the same room with mommy and daddy, and daddy really needs his sleep because he is a busy program guy. We are trying to find a way to get him out of our room to sleep at night and I think that may solve our problem.
Here are some pics of Bo Wingo in action with Billy Wingo and a few others....

It's go time!

We are finally all settled in at Trail West, we had to stay in a hotel in Buena Vista the last two nights before we could move into our room at camp because the other session was still going on. The little man did pretty well on his first big day of traveling, he got his pair of delta wings for his first flight ever! He only cried a little bit on the plane, not too bad, but just enough to make me sweat a little. Everyone around us was great. And then he slept most of the bus ride. It went well but traveling with a baby is a whole nother ball game; security with formula, looking for elevators, checking the stroller, family bathrooms, carrying luggage............ all I can say is thank God for my husband.
I wouldn't want to do that alone.
I'm excited about our assign team and work crew and summer staff. The girls summer staff coordinator was unable to come so I offered to help out some with the summer staff girls when I can. I'm really excited to have the opportunity to love on these girls and just get to know them better and give them a little bit of direction and discipleship while i'm here. One of them even goes to Samford!
Families come tomorrow and Trip has been busy getting ready with his program stuff. Can't wait to see it all tomorrow as they welcome the families. And I'm also so excited to hear Randy speak. Susie has been a great help lovin' on Brooks.
little man and I took a walk in town yesterday and came across our first wildlife. I really like deer!

A view from just outside our room, pretty awesome!
Not a bad place to play on your  play-mat

Life at camp with a 4 month hold is a little challenging at times with nap schedule, feeding, and sleeping in the same room with him but when Brooks is happy, i'm happy!

Trail West

We are off to Trail West in the morning for a month, I am a little nervous about the day of travel with the little man but I can't wait! This is what awaits us.................

updates to come!!

Our little point guard

Little man had his 4 month appointment today. Doc said he's gonna be a little point guard!
No surprise here, I smiled and laughed when doc told me this, his daddy was a scrappy little point guard in highschool.
Weighing in at 14 lbs with a whopping height of 24 inches putting him at about the 25th- 50th percentile. Our boy is average, woohoo! I love average, average is good.

And the little man got his first pair of shoes this week!

Happy Fathers Day daddy!

Trip's first fathers day!
This is Trip's first time not going on Western Tour in about 14 years so after we went and saw the buses off we went to celebrate fathers day at Waffle House. It's very strange to think of those buses on I-20 right now without me and especially without Trip, but they are in good hands, that trip is a well oiled machine! It's been a big year for us and it's hard to believe this time last year I just found out I was pregnant two day before leaving for WT and nobody knew, I started throwing up halfway on the trip. Morning sickness on a bus for two weeks is not fun..... but it was worth it! The little man just reached 4 months and we get to celebrate Trip being such a great daddy! So although we are sad that Trip isn't on WT, Brooks gets to have his daddy home on fathers day!

One of the things that I have always found to be most attractive about Trip is the way he is with children. He is just a natural.
So I have been looking forward to seeing him with his own child for so long!
And it is awesome.
I love watching him love Brooks.
So the top 10 reasons this year why Trip is THE BEST daddy.....
10. He's not afraid to carry a diaper bag.
9. He carries that dang heavy car seat around.
8. He loves to take the little man at night sometimes so mommy can have a break.
7. He loves to lay in bed with Brooks in the morning before work.
6. He gives Brooks the best baths.
5. He helps mommy change poopy diapers.
4. He comes straight for the little man when he walks in the door after work.
3. He prays for the little man.
2. He loves and serves the little mans mommy so well.
1. He loves Jesus and wants highschool kids to love Jesus.

Brooks is one lucky boy to have such an all star daddy! Can't wait for many more fathers days!
We love you daddy!

Gettin' ready

We leave in one week for Trail West for a month. Trip will be doing program for all the families and Brooks and I get to go along for the ride.  It's a little overwhelming thinking about packing up for a month with the little man but we are so excited! I can't wait to be in that Colorado weather. I am a little worried about the amount of luggage we will be needing to take with us on the plane but Brooks is ready! Watch out cowgirls, there's a new sheriff in town!

Family

I love my family! I am so blessed to have such incredible family close by. It is so fun being in the same stage of life with them. I can't wait to watch these kiddos grow up together and see their little personalities grow. Chappell, Lanier, and Brooks will all be in the same grade, how fun! It's amazing how much they grow and change in the first year of life. Chappell seems so far beyond Brooks right now but one day Brooks (hopefully) will be bigger than these girls! Here some pictures from the mountains this weekend with the fam.

Heart Explosion

I just can't even put into words how much I love this boy. Just a glimpse of how much my heavenly father loves me. WOW!

A couple things I love

As difficult as it is to take a car seat and stroller in and out of the car, I still love running errands with the little man. He just stares up at me the whole time and when I give him a smile he gives me a big grin back. It's fun to have the company!

I also love the little man in the morning, he is so smiley and it's a fun way to start the day!

I think this picture looks so much like Uncle Andrew when he was little!

Change

Well tomorrow Trip is taking a group of highschool kids to Frontier Ranch for the week. This is my first time not going as a leader.
It's strange not being a part of their week. Although I wouldn't change a thing about my new life as a mom, I will miss the special blessing of walking through a week of Young Life camp with highschool girls. I told Trip tonight at dinner that what I will miss most is watching the kids experience every part of the week for the first time. I'll miss watching their faces change from the time they get off the bus Sunday afternoon to the night that never ends on Wednesday night and then after "say so" on Saturday night.
Trip talked with a dad of one of the girls going today and he is very concerned and is pleading for prayers because his daughter doesn't want to go on the trip.  She doesn't have many friends going and obviously she has no idea what's about to hit her. I so badly wish I could watch her experience the week. I know for certain she will walk away with no regrets about going to Frontier.
I know she will walk away having an experience she's never had before.
I know she will walk away wondering why she ever doubted her decision to go.
I know she will walk away having such a clear picture of God's love story to her.
I can't wait until Trip gets home and I get to hear the stories of changed lives. Although I will not miss hiking up to the repel tower and repelling down the side of the mountain with my unbeatable fear of heights, or the nasty bathroom floor after 12 girls have showered or trying to clean a cabin after a week of girls living together in complete mess with everything thrown everywhere, it's all undeniably worth while when you hear a kid stand up at club and say they've come home to their heavenly father.

But...... I am thrilled to stay home with this little man.
And we will pray for daddy as he is where I believe to be, holy ground, at Frontier Ranch.
I. AM. OBSESSED.

perhaps he is going to be an astronaut one day.......

First Swim

Brooks got in the pool for the first time last weekend on memorial day weekend. We went to grandmama and d-daddy's house and dipped him in the nice heated pool. He loved it! It was like a giant bathtub.
